I am really irritated after spending hours assembling this monstrosity to not have the sensors keep score. First the directions are very very vague when it comes to the sensors. And there is no troubleshooting information when it does not keep score. Disappointed. Great game but no fun if you can’t keep score!!! Arghhhhh!!!!!

I was having major scoring issues with my original sensors so I figured I'd buy a new pair. After buying them, there was an enormous difference.
After buying the new ones I noticed that these newer sensor eye have a cone around the opening to get a wider perspective of the play field. My older/original ones are just an opening at the eye with no cone like opening. It's just a straight tube to the eye. I'm assuming this is an older model sensor.
SO… After installing the new ones. I literally beat my high score the first time playing. I only noticed maybe 1 uncounted basket where the previous eye would miss 7+ at the very least.
Definitely worth it and will be now buying another pair for the other side.

WE have the newer thicker rims
with the sensor we purchased- it really doesnt work any better
