Pop-A-Shot World Championship Returns to Milwaukee!

Are you a bona fide Pop-A-Shot Century Club member? Have you pushed your high scores to the limits of human ability? Are you just tired of crushing the same group of friends over and over again?

Well, rejoice bucket-getters; we are here to announce the 2022 Pop-A-Shot World Championship! For the first time in over 30 years, an official Pop-A-Shot World Champion will be crowned (take a hike bar contest winners). 

The competition will take place on April 30, 2022 at this year’s Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Qualifying gameplay will be available for all attendees from 11 am to 5 pm CST at the event, with the 8 player Pop-A-Shot Finals beginning at 6 pm CST. Information on gameplay can be found below. 

This isn’t all just for bragging rights, though. Along with the title of World Champion, the winner will take home a grand prize of $1,000. Nothing says winner like being paid to show off your game, right?

Qualifying Round: 

  • Players will play on official Pop-A-Shot Pro Single Shot model games
  • Players will play on Game Mode 1, “Standard Play”
    • :30 on Clock
    • Clock count down from 3 to start
    • Baskets are 2 points for first :20, then 3 points for final :10 seconds
    • Extra :15 seconds of bonus time awarded at 30 points ; additional :10 seconds of bonus awarded at 60 points (potential :55 with both bonus periods)
  • No limit of qualifying attempts
  • The top 8 players will move on to the Final Round

Final Round: 

  • Top 8 players from qualifying round will be seeded based on best scores into a tournament bracket
  • Players will play on Game Mode 1, “Standard Play”
    • :30 on Clock
    • Clock count down from 3 to start
    • Baskets are 2 points for first :20, then 3 points for final :10 seconds
    • Extra :15 seconds of bonus time awarded at 30 points ; additional :10 seconds of bonus awarded at 60 points (potential :55 with both bonus periods)
  • Players will compete at the same time on two different Pop-A-Shot Pro Single Shot model games
    • Higher seed player gets first choice of machine
  •  Matchups will be best 2-out-of-3
  • Tie breakers will be decided by total points
