2022 Pop-A-Shot World Champion Crowned!

2022 Pop-A-Shot World Champion Crowned!

The dust has settled, the scores have been tallied, the “Boomshakalakkas” have been yelled, and the 2022 Pop-A-Shot World Champion has been crowned.

On April 30 in Milwaukee, Nick B. took on all challengers and walked away with the $1,000 check, and, most importantly, the title of World Champion. It was far from a walk in the park, though.

Over an 8 hour qualifying period, hundreds of bucket getters, Pop-A-Shotters, wannabe hoopers, future Century Club getters, and straight up flame throwers competed for the top 12 scores of the day and the chance to play for $1,000 on the event main stage. At the end of qualifying, NBA Jam and MLB Slugfest legend Tim Kitzrow was waiting to welcome the cream of the crop to the spotlight in the Cream City.

Over the course of 12 individual games on Game Mode 1, the field was cut to the last four standing, and eventually the top two. Aaron and Nick competed in a best 2-out-of-3 format final, where Nick took both games with scores of 92 and 89 to win the crown.

Congratulations to Nick B., our 2022 Pop-A-Shot World Champion. Watch out, though Nick. Heavy is the head that wears the crown, and based on the messages we’ve received from ballers around the country since the competition’s completion, the cost of doing business just went up. Here’s to looking forward to new high scores, new challengers, and maybe even a new Champion in 2023.
